A Better Way to Approach Health Starts Here

A Better Way to Approach Health Starts Here

At Nourished with Emily, we help people build realistic, sustainable habits that actually fit their lives so they can stop starting over and finally feel in control of their health.

Meet Emily, Founder & Lead Dietitian

For years, I struggled with my own health and nutrition.

What started as an unhealthy relationship with food eventually developed into an eating disorder. That experience is what led me to become a Registered Dietitian and completely changed the path of my career.

Through education, counseling, and real-life experience, I realized something important.

The problem isn’t that people don’t care about their health.

It’s that they’ve been taught an approach that doesn’t actually work.

That realization is what led me to start Nourished with Emily.

What began as one-on-one coaching has grown into a team of dietitians and coaches helping people build lasting change in a way that feels realistic, supportive, and sustainable.

Because no one should feel:

- Stuck in an all-or-nothing cycle

- Exhausted trying to “do it right”

- Confused about what actually works

Today, we work with clients across the country through online nutrition coaching, helping them lose weight, build healthy habits, and feel more confident in their day-to-day lives.

Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from Marywood University and a Master’s in Applied Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition from Concordia University. She is a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Based in Syracuse, NY, our team supports clients nationwide.

This Isn’t Another Diet

Most nutrition plans focus on quick fixes. We focus on what actually lasts.

At Nourished with Emily, we take a different approach to nutrition and weight loss.

One that’s built around your real life, not a perfect routine you can’t maintain.

We focus on:

Sustainable weight loss

No extremes, no starting over. Just progress you can maintain.

Healthy habits that fit your life

Because your routine should work for you, not against you.

Consistency over perfection

You don’t need to do everything right. You just need to keep going.

Flexible nutrition, not restriction

You can enjoy your life and still reach your goals.

Education + accountability

So you’re not guessing what to do, and you actually follow through.

Because if it doesn’t work in your real life, it doesn’t work.

You’re Supported by More Than One Expert

Nourished with Emily is a team of dietitians and coaches trained in our proven approach to sustainable nutrition and habit change.

This means more support, more accountability, and a better experience for you.

Every coach is here to meet you where you are and help you build something that actually lasts.

Sara Hayes, MS, RD

My name is Sara Hayes and I have been a co-coach at Nourished with Emily since October 2021. I love helping clients navigate through the process of reincorporating foods they originally deemed as “unhealthy” and “bad,” such as carbohydrate-dense foods and the meal of breakfast! My favorite part about being with NWE is when clients experience wins in areas they didn’t necessarily expect to see when they started with the program, such as increased energy levels, better control over their eating habits, and improved sleep quality. The whole purpose of why I became a dietitian is due to my love of food and helping others, and I’m so excited to say I get to accomplish both by working at NWE!

I am originally from Syracuse, New York, but I currently reside in Washington, D.C. I attended college at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where I completed their unique Master’s Dietetic Internship Program. This program allowed me to complete my Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Internship over the course of five (5) years! Fun fact: Emily Gozy and I actually met in high school, and we attended the same high school AND college together! Our friendship goes way back! My current full-time position is as a Renal Dietitian with Fresenius Kidney Care, and I also have previous experience working in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). In my spare time, I play Co-Ed softball, explore the DC museums, and visit the many local restaurants DC has to offer!

Emily Wetekamp, RDN

My name is Emily Wetekamp and I am a co-coach at Nourished with Emily! I have been an online nutrition coach since May 2022 and Registered Dietitian in 2026, but it’s not my first experience educating the public on nutrition through my experience as a public health nutritionist through the state. One of my favorite things about being an RD is helping people better their relationship with food - it’s something anyone can benefit from! It’s really cool to see a client who was once struggling with binge eating, be able to gain control over the foods they deemed as “bad.” I like to teach clients that all foods fit - meaning you can eat any food you like, just rethink the way you approach it.

Instead of just eating a bag of chips or a sleeve of cookies, think, “what can I ADD to that snack to make it healthier & more fulfilling?” That way you aren’t completely cutting out the foods you love, you’re just working them into your goal of being healthier! I also like to focus on non-scale victories, as these are the wins that prove what you are doing is working. In my free time, I love to hang out with my husband, Tyler and my dog, Murphie! I also love to work out, go for walks, cook, binge watch tv, try out new restaurants, and read.

Some non-scale victories my clients have are: clothes fitting better/looser, no longer needing seatbelt extender on planes, not getting winded from walking up the stairs, better energy, improved sleep, progression in the gym/exercises, wedding rings fitting better, and SO many more! As a coach, I want to help you develop life-long tools and practices that you can maintain, even after graduating NWE!

Caroline Burlingame, MS, RDN, CDN

I’m Caroline Burlingame and I am so happy to join the Nourished with Emily team! I am from the Binghamton NY, area where I have experience as a Clinical Dietitian with our local hospital system for 6 years. My goal with becoming a dietitian first and foremost was to help people LOVE food as much as I do. I want my clients to know that eating your favorite foods does not mean that you can’t meet your nutrition goals.

I met Emily while studying for our Bachelor’s degree at Marywood University. As someone who watched NWE grow to what it is today, I am honored to be a part of something that helps people feel their best, fuel their bodies and fall in love with food again!

I love enjoying the outdoors with my family, thrifting and trying new recipes in the kitchen!

I am credentialed and in network with insurances like BCBS and Empire Plan with UnitedHealthcare to offer covered nutrition counseling.

Kate O’Shea RD, CDN

My name is Kate O’Shea, and I’ve been working with Nourished with Emily since March 2024. I first met Emily in 2021 while interning with the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program, where I discovered my passion for nutrition counseling.

With limited nutrition education in childhood and constant misinformation in the media, many adults are left feeling confused about what to eat. As a dietitian, my goal is to simplify nutrition by offering realistic and flexible guidance, without the rigidity of a meal plan. I aim to empower my clients with the tools and confidence they need to make choices that align with their personal lifestyles.

I’m originally from Rochester, New York. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Syracuse University, where I also completed my Dietetic Internship. I currently live in New York City and work full-time at Columbia University as a Registered Dietitian on the dining team. My favorite part of being a dietitian is debunking common nutrition myths and promoting evidence-based information that emphasize how all your favorite foods can fit into a healthy diet.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, watching reality TV, exploring the city, and trying new restaurants. When I’m back home, I love to spend time by the lake with my family.

I am credentialed and in network with BlueCrossBlueShield Insurance.

Erica F Perusse, MS, RD-Eligible

I have always been drawn to helping people, but my path to nutrition has been anything but traditional. My background includes working in a sexual assault and domestic violence shelter, a children’s home, an adoption agency, corporate finance, and even 911 services. Each of these experiences shaped how I see people and deepened my understanding of the challenges they face in different seasons of life.

What ultimately led me to nutrition is the realization that it is one of the few things that supports us across the entire lifespan, from before we are even conceived through the end of life. I wanted to be able to help people in a way that is both preventative and deeply personal, something that meets them where they are every single day.

I have been with Nourished with Emily since August 2020 and have truly loved learning, connecting, and watching the practice grow over the years. What initially drew me in was Emily’s passion and dedication, and that same energy continues to inspire the work I do with clients today.

As a military spouse and a mom of two adult boys, I understand firsthand what it looks like to balance a full life while trying to prioritize health. I have been the busy mom working to provide meals that are nutritious, interesting, and affordable. I have also walked my own journey with disordered eating, weight struggles, and medical interventions, which allows me to connect with clients from a place of empathy and real understanding.

I am especially passionate about supporting military members, veterans, and their families, as well as individuals navigating disordered eating or eating disorders. My approach is centered on meeting people where they are without judgment and helping them build sustainable habits that actually fit their lives.

Originally from the DFW area, I have lived in Syracuse and now call the outskirts of Nashville home. Outside of work, I enjoy photography, caring for our three dogs and six ducks, and dreaming about our future homestead with bees, goats, a mini Highland cow, and miniature donkeys. I also love winding down with a good crime series.

At the end of the day, my goal is to help people feel supported, capable, and confident in how they nourish themselves, no matter where they are starting.
